Thorne Washington is a wedding photographer in Rockford, Illinois. I first saw his work I knew he had the photo-skills, what he didn’t have was a place to present and show off his skills.
For his brand identity he mentioned wanting to make something strong and confident as well as ‘modern’ which is why we agreed on the colors green and black. The site was designed with the grid in mind, building on the overall look and feel of confidence and strength.
Now that we had a basic layout and direction in mind, the site had to be built. Knowing that his target market would be the people seeking to tie the knot, the site had to be easy to use, direct but have some personality behind it. Instead of jamming photo’s down your throat we both agreed to display many of the photo’s to a blog-esque atmosphere where users can engage in the photos and read the story behind them.
The experiment worked with Thorne Washington receiving not only wedding inquiries but also engagement and high schooler’s wanting their senior pictures taken. So tell me what you think by commenting below. Or if you want to collab’, don’t fret to contact me and let’s do work son!
