The job market is tough in 2011, but when looking for a job you try to find the one generous benefits, or amazing perks. With the job aggregation sites out there it was difficult to gauge on what job you would care about the most. Which work culture allowed your pets, or allowed unlimited vacation?

That’s the purpose of www.wrkbox.com, a site founded by Daniel Hennessy. I was approached by Daniel to build his fantastic idea where jobs could be posted that from workplaces offered killer perks, and benefits; if your workplace did not offer a cool benefit, sorry bro.’

Passion over quality?

So am I making a living off photography? No, and it hurts to admit that. It’s also is painful to come to the realization that it’s possibly not in the best interest for me to continue doing this work. What about that passion? It’s still there, and so is the love. However, understanding that working at that bottom line would sacrifice the quality of your work only helps you draw closer to the final conclusion. No, I haven’t closed the doors yet, but it seems inevitable.

I have a feeling the only reason I have yet closed the doors though is stubbornness of not being a failure or walking away, and of course the passion which lies behind the camera. It is disheartening knowing that putting the camera away is going to put an end of doing anything new with photography. However, it’s also disheartening becoming more aware of my photography, and quality work probably isn’t the reason of where I stand today.

I have learned a lot when it comes to photography, and the direction it pointed me in life. And it will always, have that place in my heart. Also writing this down will be beneficial seeing that it will be read later, and knowing that I knew at some point the door may have to come to a close. That close will be shocking and will be a major change in my life, but it maybe the step forward I needed. Maybe even the thought of walking away from it all will drive me in a new direction for photography, maybe not. All I can conclude now is that time is not on my side.

Asking myself a basic question, “are you making a living of this?” Brought realization of the market I was focusing on. Event photography is my passion and I absolutely love doing it plus I wouldn’t say that my photo’s are bad by any means.

With each passing day camera manufacturers are creating new technologies that make what was a skill to many, now a skill for all consumers. Making a profit or even a living is going to get only harder because of the sheer number of individuals willing to work for little to no cost with their possessions. And it’s only harder in an economy in which more of your client’s are not looking at the quality of work you posses, but simply the bottom line. Quantity over quality.

It was my first ever 'fashion show' I have shot, and I will say these are some of my best photo's I have ever taken. I probably have said in the past that Epic Nightclub (see photos) has the best lighting, I completely forgot about Myth.

Myth is back! And Chozen One Productions has that nightclub on lock when it comes to bumpin’ events. And this time they brought another with the launch of Too Kute, which is a fashion line founded by Chozen One. Not only did Chozen One bring the hottest go-go’s in the Mid-West, and jam bustin’ DJ’s, they also invited the hottest models that rocked Too Kute gear on the run way. If you didn’t make it, you missed out!

Myth Nightclub was closed in 2009 after the Denny Hecker scandal became public, and he filed bankruptcy. After the closure of Myth I was certain it’s doors would never open again. I am glad I was wrong, what a fantastic Nnghtclub! With Chozen One Productions hosting events at Myth it is almost a certainty that it will be a fun night.

Chozen One Productions held their first event at Epic Nightclub in Downtown Minneapolis, since their extremely successful event at event Hawaiian Luau 2 at the newly reopened Myth Nightclub in Woodbury. Knowing Chozen One you know that they won’t stop hosting poplin’ events, and April 2nd was no different.

The event was the 3rd Annual Glow Graffiti Party, where party goers can leave their mark with glow in the dark highlighters and paints on their friends or new people they met. And like all Chozen One event’s the club was packed and the party was crazy. I was defiantly excited to shoot this event for Chozen One in almost half a year as there was never a dull moment. They really know how to throw down a good party!
